A Necessary Crisis! - Rich Novek

The true testing of our Christian faith includes a Necessary Crisis!

And what is a Necessary Crisis?

A Necessary Crisis is not just your run of the mill crisis, but a crisis such as the likes we have never experienced before! It's a crisis that brings us to the place of bearing in our bodies the death...of everything that we hold dear, the things in addition to Christ that we are still holding on to. Those things we think we have released, but may still secretly serve in addition to our relationship with Christ!

No man can serve “two” masters! (Mathew 6:24)

So, we need to ask ourselves, are we really serious about forsaking all to follow Him? Because I’ll tell you one thing, He sure is!

And if we are, than we must be willing to be prepared to let Him have free reign in our lives. Free reign in everything we are holding on to, and everything our life is centered around.

Without an identity a person is not a person! It’s our identity that personalizes and distinguishes us from everyone else.

All of the things that make up life are included in our identity.

In order to experience life as God created us we have to find our identity IN Christ alone!

But in order for this to happen He will systematically “touch” everything we rely on besides, or in addition to Him as our Life! This is what Paul came to learn as the "mystery" of His life! This is "Not I, but Christ!" The journey to maturity that includes God's determined personal sufferings! And if you don't want to suffer, it's OK, because you just be included in the Glory He wants to reveal IN and through you!

True Christianity is discovering the ultimate identity crisis, and then realizing there is only One True Person (Christ) in the universe, and along with Him, only One true identity! And that we are IN Him by His doing alone!

And although it is painful, we learn it really is the best thing that could ever happen to the human condition.

In a nutshell, Real Christianity is as follows:

Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; He has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance (The “Christ as Life” kind of Life). (Psalm 66:8-12)
